CUSTOM SLEWING BEARING

Custom Slewing Bearing Design & Manufacturing

Complete this compact engineering questionnaire. All technical units are metric. Only basic contact information and application description are required.

1. Project & Application

Start with contact information and basic working conditions. This helps our engineers understand the equipment before reviewing technical data.

The original MERYDOM questionnaire includes reference sketches. The same examples are shown here to help you complete the online form correctly.

This figure explains axial load, radial load, tilting moment, and bearing turning torque.

Customer Information

Legal company or purchasing company name.

The person our engineering or sales team should contact.

Job title or department, for example Engineering Manager or Purchasing Manager.

A PDF copy of the submitted questionnaire will be sent to this email.

Include country code if possible.

Destination or project country.

Machine model, equipment project, or internal project name if available.

Date of submission or project requirement date.

Optional. Useful when delivery or documentation requirements depend on location.

Required. Example: excavator upper rotation, crane turntable, special equipment rotary platform, vertical-axis positioning device.

Select the closest type. “Replacement” means you already have an existing bearing or drawing.

Application & Movement

Select whether the bearing rotates around a horizontal, vertical, or changing axis.

Tell us which ring rotates. Choose “Not Sure” if the structure has not been finalized.

Oscillating means back-and-forth rotation. Continuous rotation means the bearing may rotate repeatedly in one direction.

Enter the maximum working angle. Leave blank if rotation is not limited.

Choose Yes if the bearing can rotate continuously without angle limitation.

Maximum speed in revolutions per minute. Approximate values are acceptable.

2. Technical Requirements

Use metric units only. Leave unknown values blank or upload drawings in the final step.

Bearing Load Conditions

Metric units: axial and radial loads in kN, tilting moment and torque in kNm, speed in rpm. Default rows are enough for most inquiries.

Indicates which mounting surface is compressed by axial load. Choose Not Sure if unclear.

For continuous rotation, enter required B10 life if known.

Select the unit used for the life requirement.

For slewing applications, describe how one cycle should be counted.

Gear Requirements

Select gearless, external gear, or internal gear. Choose Not Sure if the gear design is not confirmed.

Number of pinions or drive units meshing with the slewing bearing.

Most slewing bearings use spur gearing. Helical gearing requires additional information.

Metric gear module. If you only have drawings, leave blank and upload the drawing.

Enter only if different from common design or specified by drawing.

For helical gear only. Leave blank for spur gear.

For helical gear only.

Total number of teeth on the gear ring, if known.

Metric value from drawing or gear calculation, if available.

Metric addendum reduction if specified.

Axial width of the gear tooth face.

Gear accuracy requirement if specified by drawing or equipment standard.

If Yes, please upload the pinion drawing in the final step.

Drive position means the angular position of each pinion around the bearing. Leave blank if unknown.

Add any gear notes that may affect manufacturing or inspection.

3. Dimensions, Files & Submit

Provide dimensional limits in millimeters, then upload drawings or files for engineering review.

Dimensional Limitation Example
Dimensional Limitation Example

This excerpt from Annex C shows the type of space limitation and mounting information that is helpful for MERYDOM engineering review.

Dimensional & Mounting Constraints

All dimensions are in mm. If the bearing is not limited by existing installation space, leave these fields blank.

Approximate raceway diameter required by load capacity or existing design.

Preferred outer diameter of the slewing bearing.

Maximum allowed outer diameter due to installation space.

Preferred inner diameter.

Minimum allowed inner diameter.

Preferred total bearing height.

Maximum allowed bearing height.

This online form uses metric bolts only. Select No Preference if bolt size can be designed by MERYDOM.

Select the mounting hole type required for the outer ring.

Select the mounting hole type required for the inner ring.

Select Required if dust, water, grease retention, or outdoor conditions are important.

Select acceptable grease port locations. Choose No Preference if MERYDOM may design the position.

Files & Remarks

Enter an existing bearing number, customer drawing number, or model if available.

Describe conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, salt spray, dust, water, vibration, shock, or long outdoor storage.

Add anything that cannot be described by the fields above.

Accepted: PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, STP, IGES, JPG, PNG, ZIP. Drawings help MERYDOM review incomplete technical data.

Before submitting:
Technical fields are optional. MERYDOM can start the review from your application description and uploaded drawings. After submission, a professional PDF questionnaire will be generated and emailed to you.

The contact details, technical information, and files you submit are used to review your bearing project, generate the requested questionnaire record, and communicate with you. Privacy Policy.
